Morgan Pendleton

Unlike Custis, who has undergone so much in his life, Morgan just rides the wave. One moment, he's living it up with fancy cars and jewelry in the big city, the next he's running and working at his own bakery, living in a small apartment downtown. While he’s optimistic despite the sudden turn of the tide, he still harbors some mixed feelings with Custis after all their years both together and apart.

Pre-AU Timeline

  • Prior to losing the business, Morgan was mainly an influencer, traveling around the world and partying. He spent more time in the beds of hotels than his home.
  • When Custis had to step down as CEO, Morgan was forced to come home and figure out the rest of the financing with him. With the lack of steady income, Morgan would have to stick around for now until Custis found a solution.
  • During Custis's time as professor, Morgan searches for a new passion to sustain him while he waits for things to get better (and at Custis's nagging for him to get an actual job). One thing led to another, and he landed himself as a baker's apprentice, taking up the business in the now former owner's stead.
  • As things got worse and worse, Morgan ends up being the steady rock for the twins, as the bakery still pulls through even after Custis's big scandal.

Relationships

As twins, Custis and Morgan have had a complex relationship. They were close once, as kids growing up. They were never seen without the other. But as they grew up into different people, that started to become an issue for the two of them. Custis would go on to be the "responsible" one and take over the business while Morgan would go out gallivanting and partying. Tension naturally soon arose, Custis being envious and bitter about Morgan's carefree lifestyle and Morgan being vindictive and spiteful of Custis's power. But when the blackmail hits and they're forced to live together, a shift in their dynamic starts. Morgan would go on to develop a passion that would lead to Custis not viewing him as a total layabout. Custis is humbled by his new job as a professor and Morgan feels like they're on more equal terms. Still, their lingering tension remains, waiting to burst as it lays dormant and ignored.

Morgan himself isn't the main source of tension between the two twins, at least that's what he says. Despite the consequences that's been caused by Custis's actions, Morgan feels like he doesn't resent him as much as he should. After all, life turned out just fine for him. But he finds himself on the receiving end of Custis's chastisements, and he can only handle so much of it at a time. But over time, their relationship improves as they obtain a better understanding of each other.
